Specialist rheumatology care
Dr Richard Campbell provides specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of rheumatological and musculoskeletal conditions.
Patients may already have an established diagnosis, or may be seeking an expert opinion because of persistent symptoms, abnormal investigations or uncertainty about the cause of their symptoms.

Not sure what is causing your symptoms?
If you have persistent or unexplained joint pain, stiffness or swelling, a rheumatology assessment can help establish the cause — even if you do not yet have a diagnosis.

Not sure what is causing your symptoms?
You do not need to have an established rheumatological diagnosis before arranging a consultation. Many patients seek a specialist opinion because symptoms have persisted despite initial investigations or because the cause remains uncertain.
A rheumatology consultation can bring together your symptoms, examination findings, previous investigations and medical history to determine whether further investigation or treatment is required.
Common reasons for referral include:
- Persistent joint pain or swelling
- Early morning joint or muscle stiffness
- Recurrent episodes of joint inflammation
- Unexplained fatigue associated with joint or muscle symptoms
- Raised inflammatory markers
- Abnormal autoimmune blood tests
- Unexplained musculoskeletal symptoms
- A previous diagnosis where a second specialist opinion is required
A thorough specialist assessment
Consultations are thorough and unhurried, allowing time to understand your symptoms, review previous investigations and consider the possible causes.
Where further investigations are required, these can be planned following the consultation. Findings and treatment options are explained clearly, with a structured management plan and communication with your GP where appropriate.
Thorough assessment
Time to explore your symptoms and medical history.
Review of investigations
Previous blood tests, scans and other relevant investigations can be reviewed.
Clear explanation
